The most frequent question

The most frequent question related to Guild Wars 2 was – will it have monthly fees(the first game didn’t have). The fans were happy to know that, just like the first Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2 will require you to buy(standard price) it and play it free forever. I mentioned that Guild Wars 2 takes the best off Guild Wars. ArenaNet have decided to keep everything that made the game unique – the antigrind design, the instanced gameplay and the strong competitive gameplay. The first new thing old fans will notice about Guild Wars 2 is that, unlike the first game, it has several races. The races are four and you’ve seen them in the original Guild Wars, as nonplayable: • Charr – Ascalon’s conquerors, the charr are ferocious, warmongering creatures–the intractable foes of humanity. Now, as greater dangers threaten their conquests, charr legions and their war machines prepare for battle. • Norn – The norn are towering brawlers from the frigid northern lands who can shapeshift into mighty bestial forms. Driven from their homeland by a force beyond reckoning, the norn have regrouped among the dwarven ruins of the Shiverpeaks. • Asura – The asura, who once ruled the caverns and tunnels below Tyria, are an advanced race of small size and great intellect. Now that they have risen from below, the asura aim to rule the surface world with their powerful golems and ingenious plans. • Sylvari – Not much is known of the sylvari, save that they are a race of sentient plantbeings, newly blossomed into the world. The sylvari are the youngest of the races, bound together by a common dream and awesome power. (descriptions taken from the official website) Just like the first game, ArenaNet want to avoid the grind based gameplay that accompanies most MMO’s(especially the Korean ones), but a level cap hasn’t been announced yet(the level cap in the original Guild Wars was 20). ArenaNet also want to allow you to play with your friends, even if you are a much higher/lower level than them by implementing a sidekick system like the one in City Of Heroes. Guild Wars 2 will also offer you to play it entirely solo. The fate of the henchman, the nonplayer companions from Guild Wars 1 is still unknown. Another question comes to mind – will i be able to play with my original character’s in Guild Wars 2. The answer is both yes and no. No – you won’t be able to use your characters directly, but you will be able to showcase their trophies, titles and achievements in Guild Wars 2 from the original Guild Wars. This will happen in the monument of heroes, which will also offer unique rewards depending on your accomplishments in the original game. Your names from Guild Wars 1 will also be reserved for the game(hurray, i will be able to use my “Badger Slayer” again).
